Hands-on Japanese Craft Workshops

Originally founded as a shared studio space for creators, Makers’ Base offers a variety of hands-on craft experiences, including kintsugi, Akoya pearl accessory making, and chopstick crafting. In the kintsugi workshop, participants use an alternative material to traditional urushi lacquer, making it possible to experience the complete kintsugi process from start to finish. No personal ceramic piece is required; participants can choose a ceramic piece to repair and learn the step-by-step process of restoring broken ceramics, discovering how repair can create new beauty and value. Welcoming both travelers and locals, this experience offers a chance to connect with the Japanese philosophy of repairing and caring for objects with personal meaning.
