Discover the art and philosophy of kintsugi through Tsugu Tsugu’s 90-minute “Traditional Kintsugi Workshop,” where participants explore the history and meaning behind this craft while working with natural urushi lacquer. Participants experience several steps of the kintsugi process, including the final finishing touches. Each ceramic piece is gradually restored over time, passed from one participant to another, with different people contributing to its journey of repair and renewal. A ceramic piece is provided for each participant, and you can take home your completed work as a reminder of your time in Japan. Through a craft that values patience and cannot be rushed, Tsugu Tsugu invites visitors to slow down, care for what we have, and discover the beauty of imperfection.
